Introduction

Excited to share our latest work on sperm cell dynamics in microfluidic systems! Using a novel DNS-PT modeling approach, we uncovered that the sperm tail—not just cell shape—drives unique inertial focusing behavior in spiral microchannels. This insight could transform how we design microfluidic devices for reproductive health and cell sorting. Ian Papautsky (filling in for Sana Sheybanikashani) gave the talk.
